Dumpster or Dump Trailer?

If you’re not a “handy” person or not into knowing all the in’s and out’s of hauling equipment, you could be thinking - “what’s the difference between a dumpster and a dump trailer? They both are used to dump items in, aren't they?” Yes, a dumpster and a dump trailer are similar in that they can both be used to haul away items. However, you will find that a dumpster lessens the loader’s work load.

With a roll off dumpster, we’re able to place it on a surface and you don’t have to worry about it rolling off a hill or down a driveway. Whereas with a dump trailer, you do need to use a little more caution in placement because it still needs to be secured at the wheels and at the tow hitch.

Now you’re ready to start loading it up. The major difference you’ll see here is that once the doors are swung open, there is a significant difference from the floor to the unit itself. If you’re trying to move a large item, you will have less of a height to climb using a dumpster. The lower distance to the ground also makes it easier for a wheelbarrow to dump directly into the unit, rather than figuring out a way to get the wheelbarrow rolled inside.

Once the doors are closed, you’ll still have so much room to fill up the dumpster or dump trailer. With the dump trailer being higher off the ground, it makes it more difficult to throw items overhead to be placed inside the unit. The dumpster will be lower to the ground making it easy to just toss something in. Whether it’s a trash bag, branch, or even something with a little more weight to it, like a used computer chair.

If you’re looking to load heavy items or even wheelbarrow some kind of product, like yard debris or tiles, into the dumpster, then you might want to continue booking a dumpster here at Vega’s Pro Services. We hope that the information provided can help you make that decision.
